SpaBalancer Basic makes your whirlpool water particularly soft, without causing skin irritation. Your skin retains its natural acidic mantle and no longer dries out. The SpaBalancer UltraShock is a cleanser based on CI2Oxide. It effectively kills germs, bacteria and legionella.

Disinfecting water with conventional disinfectants such as chlorine or bromine initially renders the bacteria in it harmless. However, after a certain time, a growth of legionella or other bacteria can be detected again. The cause is the so-called biofilm. The biofilm serves as a “retreat and breeding station” for the bacteria and protects the bacteria from the disinfectants.

Furthermore, it is the only disinfectant that penetrates the biofilm, destroys the polysaccharides (multiple sugars) it contains and thus removes the biofilm effectively.

How do you perform a shock treatment?

Add 50 ml of SpaBalancer UltraShock for every 1000 litres of water. When adding the liquid, keep the pumps running so that the liquid mixes better into the water. It is important that the liquid is allowed to soak in for at least 8 hours. (If it soaks for less than 8 hours, there may still be bacteria and dirt in the whirlpool post treatment).

You can check the concentration with the test stripes. After 8 hours the test strips should still show at least 1 ppm concentration. If there is no more SpaBalancer UltraShock in the water before the eight hours have elapsed, repeat the shock treatment. Important: These values refer to water at 37 degrees Celsius. It decomposes more slowly in colder water.

If after the second application the SpaBalancer UltraShock still degrades too quickly, this may indicate heavy contamination with a lot of biofilm in the pipes. In this case, higher dosages are indicated. (Maximum 200 ml for 1000 litres water content).

Caution. The concentration should not be higher than 5 ppm. Skin irritations are possible with higher concentrations.

As an additional cleaner for “problematic” whirlpools.

Problematic whirlpools are whirlpools with insufficient filtration, e.g. inflatable whirlpools or wooden whirlpools (hot tubs). When using SpaBalancer, sufficient filtration (at least 6 hours a day) and clean filters are decisive factors for success. With some whirlpools the filter running time cannot be adjusted – this can lead to greasy deposits and clouding of the water. In these cases, a shock treatment can be carried out regularly as required.

After the successful shock treatment, wait until there is no more SpaBalancer UltraShock in the water. Then add the usual amount of SpaBalancer to the water (40 ml to 60 ml).

You can also add 20 ml to 40 ml to the water after each bath. The amount depends on the number of people who have been in the whirlpool. In addition, add approx. 20 ml to 60 ml of SpaBalancer once a week. With this procedure you use the advantages of both systems: SpaBalancer UltraShock is a fast-acting oxidising agent that decomposes after a short time, SpaBalancer is a slow and continuous-acting, skin-friendly water care and cleaning agent.

SpaBalancer UltraShock as a sole disinfectant:

SpaBalancer UltraShock can also be used as the sole disinfectant without SpaBalancer, e.g. for whirlpools without a filter system such as wooden hot tubs.

Add 20 ml SpaBalancer UltraShock per person to the water after using the whirlpool. As this liquid does not have a depot effect, you should add 15 ml of UltraShock to the water at least every three days when the whirlpool tub is not in use. Make sure that the dosage does not fall below 1.0 ppm.

SpaBalancer UltraShock as a shock agent with other types of disinfection:

As most types of disinfection (chlorine, bromine, active oxygen) allow the growth of biofilm, it is recommended to regularly perform a shock treatment with SpaBalancer Ultrashock. This not only removes the biofilm, but also many residues of the previous disinfections and thus improves the water quality considerably.

SpaBalancer UltraShock as an odour eliminator:

SpaBalancer UltraShock has the ability to destroy aroma molecules. This unique ability allows you to freshen up even badly smelling water by adding 10 to 20 ml of UltraShock to 1000 litres of water.

Durability:

SpaBalancer UltraShock loses about 8% of its effectiveness every month and has a maximum shelf life of 1 year. It should be stored in a cool and dark place. The indicated quantities should then be increased to compensate for the decreasing effectiveness after the expiry date. There is a date label on the bottom of each bottle with the expiry date.
